Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To enable students to know the characteristics of skin and venereal diseases in pediatric and adult patients, to understand the importance of epidemiological features, to apply preventive medicine measures, to make a pre-diagnosis or diagnosis of diseases that may require urgent intervention, and to gain knowledge and skills to provide diagnosis and treatment services at the primary level.
Course Content: In the field of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases, it covers the principles of symptoms and findings, diagnosis and treatment of diseases in patients in a way that includes the learning objectives specified in the Core Education Program. It includes theoretical lectures, bedside applications, service visit, student presentation, case discussions.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To teach the normal structure and functions of the skin and its appendages,
2) To teach him to define the skin lesion he sees,
3) To know the diagnosis and treatment methods used in dermatology,
4) To provide the basic theoretical and practical knowledge required to know the approach to a patient with dermatological complaints,
5) To be able to diagnose common skin diseases, to make differential diagnosis and to prepare a prescription,
6) Recognizing rare and tumoral diseases of the skin and gaining the ability to send them to centers with specialist physicians,
7) To have knowledge about the recognition, follow-up and prevention methods of the common sexually transmitted diseases.

11) is capable of having effective oral and/or written communication with patients and their relatives, society and colleagues.
