Occupational Profile of Graduates

Graduates who received the Medical Doctor diploma are assigned by the Ministry of Health for compulsory service basen on a drawing of lots. They can be appointed in primary health care in various health units such as community health units, emergency services of public hospitals. Graduates who apply to "Specialization in Medicine" Programs in Basic, Clinical or Surgical Medical Sciences, on the other hand, can go to various university hospitals or Education and Research Hospitals of Ministry health where can work as a resident in training. After the compulsory service and/or specialty education, they can work as a physician in various public institutions, private sector, research institutes or universities.
Non-citizens graduates of the Medical Faculties of Turkey hve the right to apply for a residency programs in Turkey and they can work in private sector in Turkey within the framework of current laws and regulations.
Candidates who have successfully completed their medical education can also transfer to higher degree programs such as Residency Education Programs if they succeed in central Medical Specialization Exam or apply for available Doctorate (PhD) Programmes, if they have sufficient knowledge of foreign languages and pass special exams for this degree programmes.
