Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Training physicians who can diagnose and regulate the treatment of basic surgical diseases that are clinically important, common and may require urgent intervention.
Course Content: It covers the basic information, surgical approach, management and treatment practices of surgical diseases that are common in emergency and clinic, covering the learning objectives specified in the Core Education Program in the field of surgery.
It covers point-of-care applications, treatment applications, emergency intervention, prescribing, participating in surgery, attending employee and department meetings, shifts, case discussions.

1) 1-Takes anamnesis from the surgical patient and performs the examination.
2) 2-Makes the basic diagnosis of surgical diseases and makes treatment attempts.
3) 3-Makes preoperative preparations.
4) 4-Makes postoperative follow-up.
5) 5- Can discuss and write scientific articles specific to the field.
6) 6- Can manage the field-specific phenomenon in accordance with the principles of evidence-based medicine.
7) 7- Can use good surgical practices in the management of cases specific to the field.

1) When Istinye University Faculty of Medicine student is graduated who knows the historical development of medicine, medical practices, and the medical profession and their importance for society.
2) knows the normal structure and function of the human body at the level of molecules, cells, tissues, organs and systems.
3) is capable of systematically taking an accurate and effective social and medical history from their patients and make a comprehensive physical examination.
4) knows the laboratory procedures related to diseases; In primary care, the necessary material (blood, urine, etc.) can be obtained from the patient with appropriate methods and can perform the necessary laboratory procedures for diagnosis and follow-up or request laboratory tests.
5) can distinguish pathological changes in structure and functions during diseases from physiological changes and can Interpret the patient's history, physical examination, laboratory and imaging findings, and arrive at a pre-diagnosis and diagnosis of the patient's problem.
6) knows, plans and applies primary care and emergency medical treatment practices, rehabilitation stages.
