Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives:

According to the definition of World Health Organization in 1985, rational use of medicines requires that “patients receive medications appropriate to their clinical needs, in doses that meet their clinical needs, in doses that meet their own requirements, for an adequate period of time, and at the lowest cost to them and their community”.
The aim of this internship is that intern doctors consider rational use of medicines seriously and develop their prescribing skills in the treatment of selected diseases.

Course Content:

The program covers the treatment principles of the most common diseases at first-step health care in line with the clinical pharmacology learning objectives according to the National Core Education Program,
In this internship, every intern doctor
1. Presents and discusses an article which he/she prepares from a selected journal in the field of clinical pharmacology (for example, Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics)
2. Prepares and makes a presentation on a selected treatment guideline including mechanism of action, adverse effects, drug-drug interactions and contraindications of drugs and presents sample prescriptions.

3) 3. knows and applies the treatment principles of the most common diseases at the first-step health care.
