| The high carrier rate of some single-gene diseases in our country creates a need for more trained scientists and academicians to take part in the prevention of genetic diseases. In addition, medical genetics plays an active role in the detection of somatic mutations for the prediction of new smart drug treatments designed for non-congenital genetic diseases such as cancer, and more medical geneticists with basic knowledge and practice on this subject are needed. For these reasons, it is important that our country has a Medical Biology and Genetics graduate program that will provide diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases and academically well-trained scientists. |
