Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed to develop professional language skills at the upper level by using original professional materials prepared by our lecturers for the academic programs that the students continue. In this course, the concept of ethics, the ethical debates in the future fields of study, the latest technological developments in the field and the effects of these developments are emphasized.
Course Content: Advanced knowledge and terminology related to the department, activities for the four basic skills of students, reading, writing, listening and speaking.

1) Students can easily understand everything they hear or read.
2) Students can summarize and synthesize the knowledge they have acquired from different written or oral sources and present a discussion on these sources with a fluent and natural expression.

1) Has theoretical and practical knowledge in mathematics, computer, statistics, genetics and programming, that is essence to be proficient in bioinformatics and genetics.
2) Has the basic ability to remodel, evaluate or simulate the fundamental research subjects such as molecular cell biology, genetic structure of the living organisms and understanding the modelling of evolution by using computer-based approaches.
3) Has the knowledge and ability to identify scientific problems in the field of bioinfomatics and genetics, to design and conduct experiments independently in the laboratory and digital environment, to collect data, analyze, draw conclusions, interpret and present data in oral and written fashion.
4) Has the skills of effective communication, planning, and decision making by taking responsibility in individual or teamwork.
5) Has the ability to produce output and useful models that offer original, creative and innovative solutions to problems by using inquiring, productive and entrepreneurial features effectively.
6) Has the habitude to examine the field of bioinformatics and genetics or other subjects overlaping with these fields with analytical and critical point of view and to follow them throughout life.
