Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The course aims to cultivate the knowledge, theoretical approach and skills to understand media products through the perspective of culture, how they shape and reflect cultural values, frameworks, and power relations within society.
Course Content: This course provides an overview of key concepts, theories, and methods in media and cultural studies. It maps the general critical framework for how we can look at media products through the perspective of cultural studies.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Develop their close reading and analytical skills of studying key texts in media and cultural studies.
2) will be able to critically use key concepts and theoretical approaches in media and cultural studies.
3) develop analytical skills to interpret media and cultural products.
4) critically analyse and assess media products with an understanding of how they intertwine with culture at large.
5) will develop research, reading, writing and presentation skills in the field.
