Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed at introducing written in prose and verse of old literature texts, and to improve their ability to solve and understand them.
Course Content: The literary works that Turks brought into the body as a result of their fusion with Islamic culture and civilization, the introduction of these works, the rhythm, the rhyme, the applications for understanding and solving texts.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Can explain the concepts of meter and rhyme.
2) Can explain the verse and prose texts of Old Turkish Literature at a basic level.
3) Can give information about the mazmuns in the Old Turkish literature.
4) Can know the contents of the texts of Old Turkish literature.
5) Can give information about the background of the texts of Old Turkish literature.

1) Definition of literature. Introduction to Old Literature and literary arts.
2) The metaphor and the truth. The patterns of likeness are as follows: Tashbih, Istiare and Leff ü neşr.
3) Applied literary arts on texts

5) İyham and tenasüp. Depth of meaning in texts.
6) Relationship between literary texts and history and anthropology. Telmihler and everyday life.
7) The sources of ancient literature are Qur'an, hadith, commentary, mythology and epics.
8) Midterm Exam
9) Beliefs and traditions in the light of literary texts
10) Arabic, Persian and Indian influences in ancient literary texts.
11) Aruz and finding the rhythm. Rhythms studies on texts.
12) Rhyme, revi and redif. A rhyme study on texts.
