| Istinye University Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture is a young institution that has been teaching since the 2018-2019 academic year. This state of innovation is also intended to be valid in the curriculum and approach of the faculty. In the education of architect, interior architect and designer candidates in our institution, it is aimed to develop the ability to make individual decisions and determine orientation. The consciousness envisaged to be gained is to produce awareness of the time and space in which they are positioned. Therefore, the student is approached from the fact that the world and professional practices have changed radically in the 21st century and will change even more. The most important of these new global changes is that all design disciplines, from gastronomy to architecture, are becoming more theoretical and intellectual rather than manual skill-oriented. We live in an age where learning to think abstractly is as vital as doing and performing. Equipping our designer candidates with such an understanding will open horizons for them not only in Turkey but also around the world. Instead of designers who mechanically repeat what they have learned, our main goal is to train colleagues who can critically approach what they have learned, look at outdated approaches with skepticism, and produce fresh solutions. |
