Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The course's objectives are to present the fundamental ideas of evolutionary psychology, the methodologies of its research, and the conclusions and information gleaned from investigations into the evolutionary underpinnings of mental processes like memory, language, and learning as well as behavioral processes like cooperation, mate choice, and socialization.
Course Content: Dersin içeriğinde Evrimsel psikolojinin tanımı, Evrimsel psikolojinin temel paradigmaları, İnsan dilinin evrimsel temelleri, İnsan bilincinin evrimsel temelleri, Yardımlaşma ve işbirliği çalışması, Eş seçimi performansı, Sosyal biliş gibi konular yer almaktadır.

1) Students who successfully complete this course will have an evolutionary explanation of human behavior and its products.
2) Students who can successfully complete this course will learn the place of evolutionary psychology in our understanding of human behavior.
3) Students who successfully complete this course will be able to describe how an adaptationist perspective can contribute to the understanding of human psychology.
4) Students who successfully complete this course will be able to explain the relationship between traditional and evolutionary psychology.
