Course Objectives: | This course aims to give introductory knowledge for architecture students about how cities are formed, shaped and imagined, providing further understanding about the social and spatial context of the architectural design works. |
Course Content: | An elective course which provides Architecture students with an introductory knowledge about urbanism and planning in relation to architectural design. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knowing how cities are defined, developed and shaped in time 2) Grasping the basic concepts and approaches in urban planning and design 3) To be able to think critically about the forces and actors shaping the city and architectural works 4) Having brief knowledge about the contemporary urban issues in Turkey. |
