Course Objectives: | To explain the physiological changes that occur with aging, to investigate the effect of physical activity on aging, to make the students aware of the importance of physical activity for healthy aging and to increase the quality of life. |
Course Content: | Physiological changes that occur with aging, Functional assessment methods and exercise applications, physical activity programs, environmental regulations and health policies in old age, elderly people with developmental disabilities, aging and quality of life, |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Defines the systemic changes that occur with aging and relates it to physical activity approaches. 2) Gains information about the physiological responses of people to various problems that may occur with aging. 3) Gain experience in geriatric patient assessment, identification and interpretation of patients' problems. 4) Plans and implements appropriate treatment approaches and physical activity programs 5) Gains the ability to work in a multidisciplinary manner with other healthcare professionals who provide care for the elderly in various diseases seen in geriatrics. |
