Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The course introduces students to the history of visual communication. It is aimed to raise awareness of students about design formation by examining visual communication products from the beginning to the present. To comprehend the history of visual culture and design and to prepare for application-oriented processes with this knowledge.
Course Content: Course Content The simultaneous history of visual communication and design and the revolutions, movements, periods and stages in the process of reaching today's design understanding are presented.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Will be able to develop an understanding of the chronology of visual communication by recognizing the design styles,
2) Will be able to express how historical developments shape visual culture
3) They will be able to understand the changing forms of expression and transforming design concerns in visual communication
4) They will be able to distinguish different movements and periods related to the history of visual communication
