Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to enable students to have basic knowledge of the communication discipline; to have comprehensive knowledge of verbal, non-verbal and written communication methods; to learn the basic features of different communication types and their relations with each other; to gain effective communication and group working skills and to apply all this knowledge in daily and professional business life.
Course Content: The course will be covered by following topics: Basic information about the communication discipline, main elements of communication, communication working process, communication types and methods, main communication knowledge about personnel, interpersonal, group, organizational, public and mass media and other communication types and effective communication methods.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To have knowledge about the main knowledge about communication discipline,
2) To understand the main communication process and to apply this skill to the daily life effectively,
3) To have knowledge about the rules of different communication types such as personal, interpersonal, group, organizational, public and mass communication, as well as knowledge about basic communication skills,
4) To have basic competencies in verbal, non-verbal and written communication and use all these skills in daily and professional life effectively,
5) To develop the self-expression, group work adaptation, taking responsibility, problem solving and communication skills of the students.
