Course Objectives: | Will be able to comprehend the importance of the concepts of Art and Art History, will be able to understand the correct interpretation of the historical development of Turkish art and how important our cultural heritage is in interpreting our history correctly, and will be able to comprehend that protecting this heritage has a universal value. |
Course Content: | What is art, what is the purpose of art, what are the factors that affect and create art? Why is Art History important and necessary? The development of civilization history and culture, the formation and development processes of Turkish art, art-architecture and culture in Turkish-Islamic states, the development of Renaissance period painting art, Contemporary art movements and their effects on art, the development process of Turkish ornaments and handicrafts and our cultural assets. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Evaluate the general styles of works of art 2) Can explain the characteristics of art periods 3) Distinguish the architectural and artistic features of different civilizations and periods 4) Can use critical thinking skills when describing, analysing, interpreting and judging the artwork 5) Explain how a work of art evokes feelings, emotions, and aesthetic response 6) Interpret the influence of social and cultural beliefs in artwork. |

10) She/He reads the prescriptions prepared by the ophthalmologist, supplies the optical equipment, selects the most suitable glass and frame for the patient, and performs the most appropriate glasses assembly procedures in order to eliminate or alleviate vision disorders. | |||||||||||||||
11) When there is a problem with optical materials in the optician laboratory or establishment, she/he understands and fixes the problem. | |||||||||||||||
12) Obtains the knowledge of history belonging to the Ottoman and Republican Periods. | |||||||||||||||
13) Learns Turkish language structure and acquires a basic level of English grammer that will enable her/him to communicate. | |||||||||||||||
