Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To ensure that the family gains the knowledge and skills necessary for the protection and promotion of the health of the woman, fetus and newborn. It is aimed to gain the necessary theoretical knowledge in the course environment, to examine the latest innovations in the determined subjects and to evaluate the applications in our country.
Course Content: The importance of women's health, current perspective on women's health problems, the concept of reproductive / sexual health and its reflections on women's health, understanding and laws about women's health, reproductive physiology, nursing interventions in normal and risky pregnancies, and labor and concepts and subjects that will form the basis for solving risky situations. includes.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to explain a basic concept and subjects in obstetrics and gynecology nursing with different dimensions.
2) To be able to explain women's health problems in the world and in Turkey with up-to-date data, to discuss the effects of gender on women's health, and to define agreements and laws regarding women's rights
3) To be able to explain information about reproductive physiology
4) To be able to discuss the current situation regarding birth approaches in the world and in Turkey.
5) To be able to discuss the physical and mental changes in women during pregnancy with up-to-date information.
6) To be able to explain nursing approaches in high-risk pregnancies and discuss them in line with the literature.
7) To be able to explain labor, risky situations in labor and evidence-based practices on this subject.
