Course Objectives: | This course aims to: 1) Acquaint students with the issues on international business management 2) Introduce students to organizational structure, leadership, human resources management, and corporate culture in multinational companies 3) Familiarize students with the concepts and practices in management of technology, innovation, production, purchasing, and logistics 4) Provide students an understanding of the issues on marketing in international business, and 5) Enable students to carry out research, prepare, and present a project on the topics of the course as member of a team. |
Course Content: | The competitive global business life of the twenty-first century mandates that managers develop the skills necessary to conduct effective cross-national interactions and to manage operations in international business. This means that the success of overseas operations of a multinational firm depends on the international manager's skills and cultural sensitivity, and the ability to carry out the company's strategies within the framework of the host country's business practices. The aim of the course is to enable students to develop the skills needed for effective management of people and processes in a global context in the twenty-first century. The primary focus will be on the actual management functions and behaviors necessary to develop global vision and management skills at both the organizational and the interpersonal levels. |
