Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To instruct students about principal reference works to be used in research in the fields of Turkish Language, Literature and History and their use.
Course Content: Research on a subject, use of resources, literature review, bibliography and bibliography.

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Reliable information, ways of ccessing information and structuring information and being able to make presentation of the information
2) To be able to explain the concepts related to science, information and access to information.
3) To count the ways of access to information.
4) To be able to use databases

4) Other bibliographic sources.
5) Principal reference works: Encyclopaedias: Brill Encyclopaedia of Islam/İslam Ansiklopedisi, TDV İslam Ansiklopedisi. Atlases: Brill Historical Atlas of Islam etc. Dictionaries and Grammars: Şemseddin Sami, Redhouse, Zenker, Tekin, Gabain, Deny/Elöve, Banguoğlu vs.

2) Have knowledge of examining the properties of Turkish within the framework of universal linguistics rules.
3) Establishes the relationship between language and literature, active writing and interpretation activities.
4) Uses computer software, and information and communication technologies at least at the European Computer Driving License Basic Level.
5) Uses Turkish in terms of intonation and emphasis aesthetically; writes accurate, comprehensible, effective articles in terms of spelling and punctuation.
6) Knows and uses the current information and resources in the field.
7) Understands the historical and modern Turkish texts written with different alphabets, transmits them to modern Turkish.
8) Uses the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Turkish language and literature in other fields of social sciences.
