Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Defining the study field of discourse analysis.
Defining the linguistic structure of discourse.
Showing the relationship between text and context.
Showing the role of correlation and consistency in oral and written texts.
Analyzing the close and large scale structures of written and oral texts.
Course Content: Critical and systematic analysis of texts, determination of the elements forming the style and form as content, using translation as a communication tool.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Students will gain the necessary skills to read, examine and evaluate literary texts
2) They will recognize, understand and interpret metaphorical language / rhetoric and rhetorical elements.
3) They will define, distinguish and evaluate the defining characteristics of the basic literary genres.
4) They will recall and define the basic terms and concepts of language, literature and / or culture.
5) They will realize how different social and cultural contexts affect meaning.

5) Uses Turkish in terms of intonation and emphasis aesthetically; writes accurate, comprehensible, effective articles in terms of spelling and punctuation.

7) Understands the historical and modern Turkish texts written with different alphabets, transmits them to modern Turkish.
8) Uses the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Turkish language and literature in other fields of social sciences.

10) Examine and evaluate the Turkish works in the social and cultural context.

12) Makes interpretation, commentary, interpretation, analysis and analysis by using traditional methods used in understanding, explaining and interpreting the old Turkish literature texts.
13) Uses philological, etymological and semantic approaches to understanding texts.
14) Respects social, cultural and individual differences, universal values ​​and human rights in scientific and professional activities.
