Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Comprehending the place, importance and value of biographies which are one of the important resources of Classical Turkish Literature, having information about the biographies that emerged in the centuries, examining the biography writers.
Course Content: General information about the biographies and development of Turkish Biography Literature

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) The students have information about the biographies.
2) Have information about the biography tradition in Ottoman period.
3) Develop a certain system on the evaluation of poem and poetry
4) Gain the ability to reach sources of literary history.
5) Learns the historical development of tezkires.

1) Knows grammatical features of Turkish language.
2) Have knowledge of examining the properties of Turkish within the framework of universal linguistics rules.
3) Establishes the relationship between language and literature, active writing and interpretation activities.
4) Uses computer software, and information and communication technologies at least at the European Computer Driving License Basic Level.
5) Uses Turkish in terms of intonation and emphasis aesthetically; writes accurate, comprehensible, effective articles in terms of spelling and punctuation.

7) Understands the historical and modern Turkish texts written with different alphabets, transmits them to modern Turkish.

12) Makes interpretation, commentary, interpretation, analysis and analysis by using traditional methods used in understanding, explaining and interpreting the old Turkish literature texts.
13) Uses philological, etymological and semantic approaches to understanding texts.
14) Respects social, cultural and individual differences, universal values ​​and human rights in scientific and professional activities.
