Course Objectives: | The introductory art history course aims to chronologically examine the period from prehistory to the end of the Middle Ages in a wide geography through a global perspective on art, architectural history and material culture. In addition to developing the students cultural education, the course aims to teach the students to look consciously at their surroundings and the universal cultural values, to see what they are looking at, to evaluate and make sense of what they see, and to question them, and it is aimed to contribute to their designs by establishing a link between the past and the future. |
Course Content: | Art history from the prehistoric period to the end of the Middle Ages with its periodic contexts. This course comparatively examines periods, styles and movements in art history including the development of art through the ages together with its historical and social contexts |

In the field of art and architecture to recognize the evolution of humanity and creative thinking 2) To look / see / interpretation / analysis / evaluation / comparison and provide the ability to query, 3) 3. Comprehend the historical environment and Comprehend art and socio-cultural conditions of the artist. To value the universal cultural heritage, to disown, to grasp the importance of establishing a link between past and future 4) 4. have a rich professional language by recognizing professional terms and concepts.
