Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is (i) to understand the nature of language and linguistic knowledge, (ii) to learn basic notions in the field, and (iii) to gain insight about current linguistic issues. The topics covered in the present course will include morphology, syntax, semantics, phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, and language processing and the human brain.
Course Content: Nature of language, brain and language, stylistics, syntax, semantics, phonology, sociolinguistics, language acquisition.

1) Describe the concept of linguistics together with sub-branches
2) To be able to analyze the data about style, syntax, semantics, phonology, sociolinguistics
