Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to teach students basic of translation and translation theories, methods and terminology
Course Content: Introduction to basic translation concepts and structural and descriptive translation theories, introduction of basic translation skills through informative and practical texts.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to evaluate the translation theories developed from the emergence of translation studies to the present
2) To be able to define basic translation terms and concepts
3) To be able to criticize and explain the sources used in translation
4) To recognize the various translation strategies, know where and which the strategy can be implemented
5) To be able to make translation applications in the light of translation theories learned by using various sources and evaluate the translations made
