Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is to explain the main characteristics of Turkey's economy and development of the historical process. In addition, the roles of the private and public institutions in Turkey's economy will be highlighted. It will discuss the impact of social and political events in Turkey's economy.
Course Content: Starting from the general structure of the economy in the transition from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey, how the phases that the Turkish economy went through, together with socio-cultural and political events, and the changes and transformations it went through will be explained comparatively.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the economic policies of the transition period from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey.
2) Can follow the change and transformation of the Turkish economy.
3) Have information about the institutions of the Turkish economy
4) Analyzes the causes of crises that have emerged over the years.
5) Know Turkey's economic situation in the first quarter of the 21st century.
