Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In this course, the student will be informed about the risk factors in pregnancy, to explain the complications that may occur in the pregnancy and pregnancy, to explain the applications of the midwifery in cases of risk in pregnancy and to gain the basic knowledge and skills necessary for the risky situations in pregnancy.
Course Content: Individual, obtretrical, socioeconomic, cultural, environmental risk factors and risky situations during pregnancy, ABO, Rh incompatibility and prenatal hemorrhages, hypertensive conditions in pregnancy, pregnancy and infectious diseases , pregnancy and blood diseases, pregnancy heart diseases, diabetes and pregnancy, pulmonary diseases in pregnancy, kidney diseases during pregnancy, cancer and pregnancy, epilepsy and pregnancy, thyroid diseases and pregnancy, substance dependence in pregnancy, psychosocial dimension of high-risk pregnancy, loss and grief process

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Define the risk factors in pregnancy.
2) Distinguishes normal pregnant and risky pregnant women.
3) Participates in the treatment and care of the risky pregnant.
4) Identify the complications that may occur when giving care to risk pregnancies.
5) Explain protective measures for pregnant and fetus
6) List the basic principles in the delivery of risky pregnant women.
7) Follow the risky pregnant woman.
8) Provides counseling to pregnant women and their families in risky pregnancies.
