Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to help students make sexually responsible and correct decisions for themselves and their environment by providing up-to-date information about human sexuality.
Course Content: This course covers the anatomy and physiology of the genitals, sexual arousal and response (sexual function), theories of sexuality (sexual role, sexual orientation, ..), birth control, life-long sexual behaviors, sexual dysfunctions and sexual treatments, sexual intercourse. It covers the main topics related to human sexuality such as infectious diseases, atypical patterns in sexual behavior (paraphilias), sexual violence.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Will be able to explain why sexual education is needed.
2) will be able to compare male and female reproductive anatomy and physiology.
3) Will be able to define what sexual orientation is.
4) Will be able to list different sexual problems that can be seen in men and women.
5) Will be able to define sexual diversity and paraphilias.
6) Will be able to define sexual disorders.
