Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To know child health problems in our country, common diseases in children and some common infectious disease findings in children, to know the primary preventive measures that can be taken in school and at home in infectious diseases in preschool education, to create awareness to create early warning to family in chronic child diseases.
Course Content: Child health, definition and problems, child health protection and development, school, and home health protection measures (home accidents, safety measures, etc.), common symptoms in children (fever, febrile transfer, etc.) in childhood respiratory system diseases, digestive system diseases, active and passive immunization in children, allergies, infectious diseases common in children and ways of prevention.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Define the basic concepts about child health.
2) Use and interpret methods of child health protection and development.
3) Explains the causes of disease in children.
4) Knows newborn care methods.
5) Learns pathways of digestive system, nervous system and respiratory system diseases in childhood.
6) Knows the importance of child health and uses it according to ethical values.
7) Conduct studies on genetic diseases and allergies.
