Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to introduce molecular biology and genetic students to the concept of systems biology / omics technologies and to provide insight on how they can integrate them into their profession.
Course Content: This course includes the definition of systems biology and omics technologies, analysis of omics data types, integration of omics data into drug repositioning and molecular pathway analyses over omics data.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Have knowledge about systems biology and omics technologies
2) Learns the concept of pharmacogenetics
3) Have detailed information about OMIC technologies (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics)
4) Learns how to integrate OMIC technologies into drug discovery and development processes
5) Have basic knowledge of transcriptome data and can make drug repositioning over transcriptome data.
6) Learns how to analyze OMIC technologies for biomarker discovery
7) Learns web tools used for drug repositioning
