Course Objectives: | The aim of the course for each student; To learn general information about physiological properties of nervous system |
Course Content: | Nervous physiology, central nervous system organization, brain and behavior, thalamus, hypothalamus, basal ganglia, cerebellum, reticular formation, control of motor cortex and voluntary movements, reflex, autonomic nervous system, blood-brain barrier and cerebrospinal fluid, speech, learning, memory, pain mechanisms, sleep physiology |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) 1. List the organs of the central nervous system and related systems, 2. Define the general structure of the cortex, primary and secondary areas, 3. Can explain the relationship between sensory and motor regions of the cortex, 4. Can discuss the physiology of the limbic system and hypothalamus, 5. Discuss the physiology of the brain stem, reticular formation, basal ganglia and cerebellum 6.Will be able to explain the formation of cerebrospinal fluid and cerebral blood flow. |
