Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To make the commentary and analysis of the texts of Classical Turkish Literature and to determine the cultural, historical, aesthetic and literary elements in these texts.
Course Content: Reading high-level texts from the Ottoman period, developing the skills of transferring these texts to today's language, grammatical structure and historical/cultural background readings and semantic analyzes through selected texts.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Be able to penetrate the contents of literary texts produced in the Ottoman period.
2) Be able to comprehend the integrity of literature that has developed in the historical period.
3) Gains the ability to understand the Old Turkish Literature texts, which are described as difficult and incomprehensible.
4) Understands text analysis methods.
5) Understands text commentary methods.
6) Can interpret texts according to these methods.
