Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed to gain the basic computer usage skills necessary in daily life and education and training process.
Course Content: - Knows the basic concepts of basic information technology.
- Knows the basic structures and functioning of the computer.
- Recognizes the basic hardware that makes up the computer.
- Can follow the developments related to them.
- Knows computer types, classification and structural differences. Knows operating systems and their basic tasks.
- Has knowledge about programming languages.
- Recognizes current software for engineering and forest industrial engineering.
- Can work on current versions of Windows operating system.
- Can use current versions of office software at a good level. Can prepare documents, make graphical expression and visual presentation, analyze data.
- To be able to use internet tools and information retrieval techniques.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) -Will be able to express the historical development stages in information technologies, -will be able to define the basic concepts related to information technologies, -will be able to explain computer generations and their properties, -Define the structure of data units of measurement
2) -Will be able to define hardware, -will be able to express the characteristics of the central processing unit, -Explain the properties of motherboard and data buses, -will be able to classify memory units, -Count the basic hardware components, -Learn the external hardware components used with the computer and their properties.
3) -Explain the characteristics of system software, -You will be able to count the system software, -Understand the working structure of operating systems, -Explain the properties of application software.
4) -Will be able to recognize and use the Windows operating system, -Learn the concepts of drive, folder and file, -Windows 10 will be able to personalize the operating system according to your wishes, - Recognize the desktop view and its components, -You will have knowledge of mouse and keyboard usage.
5) -You will be able to add new users to your computer and control them, -Learn login options, -Will be able to use OneDrive storage, -You will be able to edit, select, delete, name, copy and move objects to another location.
