Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To ask questions on principles of creating images, aesthetic perception, creating meaning, power of image.
Course Content: How images in mass media are created, and how our human senses can perceive and evaluate them?

1) Can define the theories on the view of the audience.

Program Outcomes
1) Ability to identify, define, formulate and solve problems related to Civil Engineering and near engineering disciplines; have the ability to select and apply appropriate analytical methods and modeling techniques for this purpose
2) To have sufficient background in basic sciences such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Civil Engineering; have the ability to use theoretical and practical knowledge in these fields for engineering solutions
3) Ability to analyze a system, system component or process related to Civil Engineering problem and to design under realistic constraints to meet the desired requirements; has the ability to apply modern civil engineering design methods in this direction
4) Ability to select and use modern techniques and tools required for civil engineering applications; have the ability to use information technologies effectively
5) Has the ability of designing experiments, performing experiments, collecting data, analyzing and interpreting the results in different disciplines of civil engineering (structures, construction materials, geotechnical, hydraulic, transportation)
6) To be able to access information and to do resource research for this purpose, have the ability to use databases and other information sources
7) Ability to work effectively in individual and multi-disciplinary teams
8) Has the ability to communicate effectively in English and Turkish
9) Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; have the ability to follow developments in science and technology and to renew themselves continuously
10) Have the awareness of professional and ethical responsibility
11) Awareness of construction project management, workplace practices, employee health, environmental and occupational safety; has an awareness of the legal consequences of engineering applications
12) To be aware of the universal and social effects of engineering solutions and applications; to be aware of the issues of entrepreneurship and innovation
13) To be able to use a foreign language at a minimum B1 level in terms of European Language Portfolio criteria.
14) To be able to use information and communication technologies together with computer software at the Advanced level of European Computer Users License.
