Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: I. Explain the relationship between social structure and media
II. Explain the ideological functions of the media.
III. Provide an understanding of the process includes a history of mass culture
IV. To reveal the relationship between popular culture and media
V. Showing the Social Media formations
Course Content: In this course, the similarities and differences between the social structure and the structure of the media, the ideological functions of the media, mass culture, popular culture and the role of the media on society are discussed within the scope of the course.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explain the relationship between social structure and media,
2) Understands the ideological functions of the media
3) Understands the contribution of the media in the formation of mass culture.
4) Understands the relationship between popular culture and media
5) Gains the skill of using social media organizations and their use in public relations activities.
