Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: 1. Dominate the basic concepts of the research,
2. Learning the research method and process,
3. To learn data collection and data analysis methods, to be able to explain research results with scientific methods,
4. To be able to create research problematic,
5. Gaining the skill of evaluating research results and making practical results,
6. Learning to prepare a research report,
7. To know how to do a scientific social science research and to reach the competence to design and carry out research,
8. Having the ability to conduct and to write a scientific research.
Course Content: In this course, planning, designing and conducting a scientific research in the field of social sciences and communication are covered. The importance of research in social sciences, research methodologies used in the field of social sciences, research design preparation, literature review, data collection tools, data analysis methods, interpretation of research data are among the topics to be covered in the course. However, research ethics, writing a research report, thesis and article writing are the other topics to be covered in the course.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Learns and discusses the basic concepts of scientific research.
2) It dominates the scientific research process stages and learns to plan a research related to social sciences including research problem, research method and data analysis method.
3) Have a command of scientific research methods and have the knowledge to choose the right method according to the research area.
4) Learns the rules, ethical principles and bibliography rules for writing a thesis, scientific article and research.
5) Has the knowledge of preparing scientific reports.
