Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course for each student;
The aim of the course is to enable the students to identify and evaluate rheumatologic diseases by integrating the theoretical and practical education, and to learn the information that will enable the establishment of the appropriate physiotherapy and rehabilitation program.
Course Content: To introduce the rehabilitation requirements in patients with different rheumatic problems, basic information about evaluation methods and appropriate exercise approaches, evaluation methods used in rheumatic diseases, determination of treatment programs of patients, physical therapy and electrotherapy modalities indicated in rheumatic diseases, combined applications of selected treatment agents with exercise, the examination of the problems such as deformity, contracture and muscle weakness that may occur in certain rheumatic diseases according to the diseases, the precautions and treatment principles that can be taken.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the etiology and clinical features of common diseases in physiotherapy.
2) Knows the main symptoms of common rheumatic diseases.
3) Knows the effects of common rheumatic diseases on musculoskeletal system.
4) Can work with different disciplines in the treatment of rheumatic diseases
5) Make evaluation according to rheumatic diseases.
6) Interpret the evaluations and plan appropriate treatment programs
