Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In psychology of adolescence and the characteristics of adolescence will be introduced physical, cognitive, social, emotional, identity and moral development, psychosocial problems in adolescence, adjustment and behavior problems will be examined.
Course Content: Physical development, cognitive development, social, emotional development, personality development, romantic relationships, development of sexual identity, friendships in adolescence, emotion regulation, attachment, adolescent-family relationships and social relationships, aggression and crime in adolescence, working and disabled adolescents, psychosocial problems in adolescence, adjustment and behavior problems.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the characteristics of physical, cognitive, emotional, social development in adolescence
2) Knows the psychosocial problems, adjustment and behavior problems that accur during adolescence
3) Knows the psychological and social problems of adolescents and can produce solitions.
4) The skills to communicate effectively with adolescents
5) Knows the role of healthy communication between the adolescent and the family in the formation of the adolescent identity
6) May use methods that help adolescents cope with stressful life situations.
7) Knows and applies approaches and methods that support healthy identity development in adolescents.
