Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to help students understand how to address health and illness through the bio-psychosocial model. Second, to help students identify behavioral factors that influence health and illness. Thirdly, it is to guide students in coping with illness and understanding health-promoting behaviors.
Course Content: Health psychology is a specialty that focuses on how biology, psychology, behavior, and social factors affect health and illness. This course is designed to help students understand the role of behavioral factors in health and illness and to provide an introduction to the field of health psychology.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Gains knowledge about the basic concepts and theories of health psychology.
2) Learns the history of health psychology and its relationship with other fields of science.
3) Knows the basics of health and disease in terms of bio-psychosocial.Comprehends the importance of behavioral and psychological connections of health and illness.
4) Gains knowledge about the research and application areas of health psychology.
