Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Psychological examination of language development and related concepts.
Course Content: Introducing the relationship between mind and language and the biological foundations of language. Psycholinguistic study of language development processes in humans on the basis of different language structures, language modalities, language skills, and differences between language and other communication systems. Discussing what grammar is necessary for language use and what cognitive processes are involved in normal language use.

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Describes the basic concepts and subjects in the field of psycholinguistics.
2) Explains the biological, cognitive and social foundations of language production and understanding.
3) Describes the basic stages in the production and understanding of language.
4) Discusses the place of language errors, gestures and signs in psycholinguistic studies.
