Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In this course, it is aimed that the students will learn the customs legislation and will be able to make the customs procedures according to the legislation. In the scope of this course, basic concepts about the customs, representationof the firms at the customs, customs tariffs and the calculation of the duties, customs regimes are explained. And also,the submitting of the goods to the customs, cleared goods, customs inspection are studied.
Course Content: In this course, students will learn the customs legislation and will be aware of the customs procedures according to the legislation. In the scope of this course, basic concepts about the customs, representation of the firms at the customs, customs tariffs and the calculation of the duties, customs regimes are explained. And also, the submitting of the goods to the customs, cleared goods, customs inspection are studied.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) The importance of 'Customs Operation', which is a part of logistics operation, is comprehended.
2) Customs Legislation and general principles are known.
3) The competence of analysing logistics and foreign trade operations from the point of customs administration and customs responsibilities is acquired.
4) Customs Regimes are learned, and the differences of customs regimes are analysed.
5) Taxes and duties that are paid at the customs are learned.
