Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To examine the practices of international trade, logistics, foreign exchange, customs clearance, surveillance, banking, insurance and import-export transactions in detail, to give theoretical and practical information to those who want to work on these issues. To convey the current developments on these issues, to explain the applications, to give examples. To give information about international terms and organizations. Managing customer relations and applications in import and export.
Course Content: This course is designed for students who are familiar with the basic concepts and approaches in the field of International Trade, to manage these transactions and customers in a more advanced manner; It will cover applications in export, import, foreign exchange, logistics operations, insurance and banking. In addition to theoretical information, practical applications and current developments in import and export and related sectors will be given.

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) International Trade concepts, export, import, customs clearance, surveillance, logistics etc. They learn to apply their operations.
2) They learn the institutions operating in the field of International Trade and their studies.
3) They are aware of examples and current developments in these subjects. There will be opportunities to meet with experts, institutions and authorities in the sector.
4) Comprehend the dynamics and requirements of the global business world.

Course Flow Plan

2) Foreign exchange transactions, payment methods, foreign exchange legislation, receiving export price, swift, NBF, DAB DSB, correspondent bank.
3) International trade theories, comparisons, case studies, DEİK country reports.
4) Foreign trade deficit, foreign trade balance, terms of trade, foreign exchange, arbitrage, convertibility, devaluation.
5) Contracts, clauses, necessary conditions, force majeure, dumping, anti-dumping.
6) Export transactions, stages, parties, marketing in export, negotiations with the customer.
7) Payment methods applications
8) Midterm
9) DEIK and other organizations
10) Import operations, management of relations with the seller.
11) Customs clearance and logistics operations
