Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In this course, the causes and clinical findings of periodontal diseases are taught within the scope of current disease classification at a level that will provide information and diagnosis.
Course Content: Plaque-associated and independent gingival diseases, necrotizing periodontal diseases, periodontitis as a manifestation of systemic diseases, periodontitis, peri-implant diseases, mucogingival problems around teeth, traumatic forces and their effects, patient examination and diagnosis, periodontal hand instruments, oral hygiene procedures

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows and diagnoses dental biofilm-induced and non-dental biofilm-induced gingival diseases
2) Knows the clinical findings of periodontitis as a manifestation of systemic diseases and makes a differential diagnosis
3) Knows the clinical signs and stages of periodontitis, determines its severity, and determines its prognosis.
4) Knows the possible effects of prosthesis and tooth-related factors on periodontal tissues, and preventive approaches
5) Knows Periodontal clinical Examination and Diagnostic criteria of diseases
6) Knows and teaches Oral Hygiene and Plaque Control Methods
