Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to provide theoretical knowledge on classification of malocclusions and diagnostic methods in orthodontic treatment. |
Course Content: | In the scope of this course, topics such as eruption times of primary and permanent teeth, classification of early and delayed eruption of primary and permanent teeth, the biomechanics and histology of orthodontşc tooth movement, biomechanics in orthodontics, anchorage, materials used in orthodontics, cephalometric X-ray analysis, model evaluation, diagnostic methods, dental and skeletal malocclusions will be discussed. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) The student can describe the processes of orthodontic tooth movement and the histology of tooth movement in orthodontics. 2) They can perform cephalometric radiographic analysis. 3) They can make orthodontic model analysis. 4) They can define materials used in orthodontics. 5) They can identify orthodontic treatment needs in mixed dentition situations and formulate treatment plans. 6) They can make orthodontic classification of dental and skeletal malocclusions. |
