Course Objectives: |
Throughout this course, students will delve into the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology through a comprehensive curriculum. In the first weeks, they will develop the skills to interpret and analyze radiographic images, focusing on the identification and understanding of benign tumors, neoplasms, diseases affecting bone structure, and malignant neoplasms. Subsequent weeks will cover topics such as assessing bilateral pathologies, understanding ghost images, and interpreting periapical lesions. Students will also explore concepts like impacted teeth, periapical radiopaque pathologies, and hipersementosis, enhancing their understanding of these important aspects of radiology. Later in the course, the focus will shift to more specialized areas, including the interpretation of paranasal sinus diseases, craniofacial anomalies, temporomandibular joint abnormalities, soft tissue calcifications, and ossifications.
