Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Physical and psychosocial aspects of the mother, fetus and newborn during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period.
To provide the necessary midwifery knowledge and skills for the protection and development of their health and to follow the innovations and current approaches on these issues.
Course Content: This course covers the evidence-based examination and interpretation of new practices in the birth process.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to explain the protection of mother-fetus-newborn health in prenatal, natal and postnatal periods.
2) Ability to prepare, perform and care for mother and fetus for birth
3) Being able to care and evaluate the mother in the postpartum period
4) In the presence of risky situations related to prenatal, natal and postnatal periods, using case discussions to identify problems related to treatment and care
5) To be able to care and evaluate the newborn in the postpartum period
