Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The course aims to teach the development process, basic features and main problems of Turkish administrative history as a whole from a historical point of view.
Course Content: While examining the administrative history of Turkey, it is inevitable that the Ottoman administration history should be discussed in detail. Administrative institutions and the principles of administrative structure constitute one of the most important parts of the heritage transferred from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic. It is clear that the structure of administration and administrative organization cannot be explained without associating it with economic, social and political developments. In this context, the operation of the course has been developed with the focus on the "administrative system" and accordingly, a subject integrity has been created by associating it with the other developments mentioned above. It is known that the Ottoman administration system was influenced by the elements coming from the Islamic and Seljuk Empires, which had the same belief norms as the Sassanid and Byzantine Empires, which were the former empires that lived in the region. In this sense, the historical developments and accumulation from the empires established in the region to the Republican period will constitute the content of our lesson.
