Course Objectives: | To give theoretical information about the production of transgenic living things by making genetic changes in animals and cells. |
Course Content: | Reproductive cycle in humans, mice and rabbits, egg collection methods and hormones used, vasectomy operation in mice, embryo classification, culture and gene transfer. Different gene transfer techniques and genetically modified organisms. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the reproductive cycle and early embryo development in humans and rodents. 2) Knows culture methods by collecting eggs and embryos with assisted reproductive techniques. 3) Knows the methods used for gene transfer in egg, embryo, and adult cells. 4) Knows how and when existing and developing gene transfer methods can be used. |
