Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Developing the ability to make decisions about orthoses used before and after surgery in different pathological conditions according to indication
Course Content: Course is about functional, resting, immobilizing, corrective orthoses used for different indications and rehabilitation. Developments in today's orthotic technology make function evaluations according to the needs of the person in a discussion environment with case studies.

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explains orthotic indications
2) Develops the ability to make decisions according to indications
3) Makes case reports on the subject
4) Practices clinical problem solving
5) Knows orthoses that can be selected in the rehabilitation process for any region after injury.

Course Flow Plan

1) Orthosis indication in neurological (spinal cord injuries, spina bifida, poliomyelitis, neuromuscular, cerebrovascular diseases, cerebral palsy, neurodevelopmental delays, etc.) conditions
2) Orthopedic indications in orthopedic (fracture, congenital hip dislocation, pes planus, etc.) cases
3) In different pathological conditions such as rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis)
4) Case studies and clinical evaluations
5) Functional, restful, immobilizing, corrective orthoses and rehabilitation
6) Case studies and clinical evaluations
7) Mid tersm
8) Orthoses used before and after surgery
9) Developments in today's orthotic technology, evaluation of function according to the needs of the person
10) Case studies and clinical evaluations
11) Deciding to make arrangements and adaptations appropriate to the patient's needs
