Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: To ensure that the student who starts the thesis study has a good command of the subjects related to the thesis, carries out and concludes the thesis.

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to comprehend the basic primary and secondary sources about the thesis topic
2) To be able to use databases to follow up-to-date publications related to the thesis study area.
3) To be able to evaluate contemporary approaches and methods related to the thesis
4) To be able to create solution proposals for the problems that may arise in the use of resources, method and writing stages in the thesis study.
5) To be able to evaluate previous studies in the field with a critical and comparative perspective
6) To be able to explain the necessity of academic ethical rules
7) To be able to plan the stages of the research to contribute to science
8) To be able to evaluate the long-term results of the thesis work in the field of science and on society.

Course Flow Plan

1) Informing and evaluating basic studies in the field.
2) Interpretation of current approaches and methods related to the thesis
3) Data collection and determination of methods to be used in the thesis
4) Literature follow-up on the field and method.
5) Literature follow-up on the theoretical background of the thesis.
6) General evaluation in the context of theoretical framework, method and basic works.
7) Preparing the temporary plan of the thesis work, determining the main and sub-titles.
8) Reading and evaluation within the time-space limits and temporary plan of the thesis work.
9) Preparing and presenting reports.
10) Literature follow-up, note taking and evaluation.
11) Complementing deficiencies in primary sources.
12) Interpretation, evaluation and analysis.
13) Solution of existing problems in the context of method and content.
14) Evaluation, report preparation and presentation.
