Course Objectives: | To examine physiotherapy evaluation methods in neurological diseases, to develop special treatment methods for diseases. |
Course Content: | Lower motor neuron diseases, clinical types, differences from upper motor neuron diseases and physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods used in these diseases are discussed and the current literature is reviewed. Neuromuscular diseases, which are defined as hereditary and acquired diseases of the peripheral neuromuscular system and take place in a wide range, are a group of diseases that physiotherapists encounter frequently in the clinic and cause disability of varying severity. The aim of this course is to teach the systematic approach to this group of diseases, which lead to progressive physical and functional disabilities and have physiotherapy strategies different from upper motor lesions, and to gain the ability to keep up with the latest. Analyzing physiotherapy rehabilitation approaches applied in neuromuscular diseases and Research planning is done on physiotherapy and rehabilitation of neuromuscular diseases. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows central and peripheral nervous system diseases. 2) Knows physiotherapy evaluations according to nervous system pathologies. 3) Knows physiotherapy methods used according to nervous system pathologies. 4) At the end of this course, the student will be able to describe evidence-based physiotherapy approaches in neuromuscular problems. |
