Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Within the scope of the course, it is aimed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to explain and apply the pre-treatment methods used in acute injuries during training or competition. Explains the causes of sports injuries, types of sports injuries, precautions to be taken against injuries
Course Content: It covers the literature research in order to learn the causes of sports injuries and scientific developments in the field of physiotherapy in sports.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Diversification of functional exercise in sports injuries.
2) Can make evidence-based exercise selection in upper extremity.
3) Can make evidence-based exercise selection in lower extremities.
4) Discuss the physiotherapy program with the literature.

3) Methods of preventing sports injuries
4) Acute and chronic types and causes of sports injuries
5) Shoulder-elbow injuries, definitions, examination and treatment methods
6) Athlete examination, cold and hot treatment methods, bandage treatment methods and application studies in sports injuries
7) Hip, knee and ankle injuries, their definitions, examination and treatment methods
8) Midterm
9) Factors causing sports injuries and return to sports activity
10) First aid, dressing and bandaging techniques and application studies in sports injuries
11) Targets, programs, sports warm-up and cool-down techniques in sports rehabilitation
12) Acute and chronic types and causes of sports injuries
13) Sports injuries, the importance of biomotor features (strength, endurance, flexibility, etc.) in the prevention of diseases
